JEREL Ifil is facing an unhappy Easter after referee Mark Haywood cautioned The Beast' for unsporting behaviour in the dying seconds of the win over Gary Peters' outfit.

The exact nature of the defender's crime' is unclear although it appeared to stem from an exchange' with Shrewsbury's Stuart Drummond.

The two players were pushing out of the area following a last-gasp scuffle and drama over whether a Shrewsbury effort had crossed the line.

As the ball was pumped forward, Mr Hayward blew his whistle, awarded the Shrews a free-kick and booked Ifil.

The club were seeking clarification today as to when the player's two-match ban kicks in.

The seven day rule appears to come into play, leaving Ifil clear to face Rochdale but out for the games with Hereford and Torquay respectively.

Speaking to the press after the game, the referee said: "Unsporting behaviour. He was unsporting as he came out of the area in an off the ball incident with Mr Drummond."

Goalkeeper Phil Smith, who was not impressed with Mr Haywood's display, was bemused by the caution.

He said: "Jerel told me one of them was trying to square up to him and he's just kept running his line."

As for whether Shrewsbury's late goal' had crossed the line or not, Mr Haywood said: "I looked across at the assistant who was 100 per cent sure the ball's not crossed the line.

"Gary (Peters) has asked me to look at the video. Unfortunately we can't do anything about it now.

"By all means I will and give Gary a ring Monday or Tuesday."
