SWINDON St George will be hoping a three week break will prove just what they needed to regenerate themselves when they face Cheltenham Phoenix today.

Despite a 42-22 defeat to the same opposition prior to their break, which saw them knocked out of the cup competition, St George team manager Jakob Kauusberg says his team go into the match full of confidence.

During the break the team concentrated on getting their long injury list down as well as team building nights out to boost morale in the squad.

The two sides sit level on points in the West of England Premier league table, with one win each, so Kauusberg is fully aware of how important a win could be to lift them away from the foot of the table.

“We are feeling very confident for this one,” he said ahead of their trip to Gloucestershire. “It’s a bit of a mid-table clash and we are pretty confident that we are going to come away with the points.

“We’ve had about four weeks off and had that time to recuperate and get some players back in who were injured.

“We spent a lot more time thinking about our game plan and our tactics and we are in a pretty good place at the moment.

“We have got a lot more attacking moves that we are really comfortable with and are going to put into practice this weekend.

“They have got quite a lot of young players, who are quite quick, so we need to clamp down on them quite quickly and control the game so it doesn’t get away from us.”
