THE 2015 annual School Games Panathlon disability competition was a great success.

Students came from schools from across the county including Uplands and Brimble Hill Schools in Swindon, St Nicholas and Frogwell Schools Chippenham and Larkrise in Trowbridge.

Approximately 80 children, with ages ranging from 9-18, attended and in spite of their difficulties, all of the athletes competed outstandingly well, with the most good-natured spirit possible in their events.

There were five main areas of competition, including the Paralympic sport boccia, table cricket, new age kurling, polybat, and indoor athletics, the latter including javelin, relay running and wheel chair slalom.

St James Foundation who are the main funding organisation behind the Panathlon Games and enable these events to happen sent along five of their staff to help support the athletes.

Paralympian swimmer Kate Grey presented the young athletes with their medals.
