LOCAL teams now know where their ambitious quests to national glory will begin after the FA released the draws for the early round of their competitions.
The newly-christened Royal Wootton Bassett Town will begin the FA Cup at home to Bracknell Town in the preliminary round whilst Highworth Town, who have signed on 12 members of last season’s squad, including TJ Bohane and Dan Drewett, won’t enter the FA Vase until the second round proper after reaching last season’s semi-finals.
Bassett, Shrivenham, Fairford and New College all begin in the first qualifying round.
College make the trip to Cheltenham Town in the FA Youth Cup preliminary round whilst in the FA Trophy, Swindon Supermarine go to Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division Paulton Rovers, who they are scheduled to play in a pre-season friendly, in the first qualifying round.
