POLISH rider Grzegorz Zengota will be asking to borrow Troy Batchelor’s kevlars more often as his 16 points helped Swindon to an impressive 51-39 away victory over Wolverhampton Wolves.

Swindon Robins recorded their first win at Monmore Green since their championship winning season in 2012 to continue their push for the play-offs.

The rain held off for just long enough for Swindon to secure the vital points on the road as the heavens opened shortly after the completion of the meeting.

Swindon had a lot to thank 26-year-old Zengota for as he secured five heat wins on the night to turn the night on its head, but the Pole had skipper Batchelor to thank for even being out on the track.

“I forgot my kevlars so Batch helped me and lent me his and I would like to thank him for that, because without him I would not have been able to race and the 16 points would not have been possible,” he said.

“It is a fantastic feeling when we win together as a team.

“I am really happy that I scored a lot of points and it was really the complete performance.

“We are a great team, with a great team spirit and Rosco (Alun Rossiter) completes this team and this win puts us in the right way to the play-offs.

“I feel with every meeting better and better and you can see it on the track.

“If I can score 16 points here at Wolves then I can score it everywhere because it is a difficult track.

“After this score I am strong in the head and now every meeting I should be good on the bike and good in the head.

“After a score like that the next meeting is always easier.

“Now we go to Poole and we fight for the play-offs.”
