A LOAN move for former Swindon Town midfielder Louis Thompson is not on the cards, the Adver understands.

Despite being seen with brother Nathan at the County Ground on Saturday, the Adver are led to believe this morning that a move to bring back Louis on loan from Norwich today is highly unlikely.

The Premier League outfit are thought to favour a move to a Championship club for the 20-year-old.

Town are known to be in the market for a striker on transfer deadline day, but a move for long-term target Tom Bradshaw also looks to have failed.

The club are thought to have made several more bids for the 23-year-old since having a bid in the region of £300,000 turned down at the beginning of August.

The former Wales under 21 international, who netted 20 times in all competitions last season, has been a main target for chairman Lee Power.

However, the Adver understand that a deal is not likely to happen before the window closes at 6pm.
