POLISH rider Grzegorz Zengota hopes to carry his form into the play-offs after continuing to shine for the Swindon Robins.

It does not seem long ago that Robins team boss Alun Rossiter had the tough decision to make between dropping either the 26-year-old or Brit rider Kyle Howarth to make way for Darcy Ward.

At that stage Zengota stepped up his game to make it impossible for Rossiter to axe him and he has not looked back.

The Pole continued his fine form to guide the team to a 12-point victory over Leicester Lions and was only denied a paid maximum in heat 15 by Aussie Jason Doyle.

Zengota now hopes that his form will help the Robins in the business end of the season.

“I am feeling really good,” he said.

“It was fantastic (against Leicester) for me to score 14 points.

“I feel good on the bike and my bike is very fast at the moment.

“Now it is an important part of the season, with the play-offs in front of us, and I hope I can do the same in the next meeting.”

Zengota admitted it was a difficult week for all in the Robins camp following Ward’s horror crash in Poland on Sunday.

However, he hopes that the team can continue to build on the foundations that the Aussie has laid since his arrival.

“It was not easy last week,” added the Pole.

“We tried to focus on the meeting, but that is not easy when you know that Darcy has had a bad accident and a big injury.

“We know him so closely and I want to wish him the best because he is a good guy and I hope he is able to make a recovery.”

Swindon travel to Coventry tonight knowing that a win would not only secure their place in the play-offs but would also put pressure on the team sitting just one point ahead of Swindon in second place, with the Bees facing King’s Lynn on Monday night.

Despite a dominant 19-point victory over Coventry on their last trip to Brandon, Zengota knows that it won’t be as easy this time.

“I hope that we can do the same this week when we face Coventry twice,” he said.

“But we know that Coventry are a strong team and they race in every meeting this season really good so they will not be easy to beat.

“The last meeting with them is just a story now and the next one is a new meeting which will be difficult.

“We will now concentrate on that and we would like to win but we know it will not be easy.

“If you want to be the champions you must beat everyone at this time in the season.”

SWINDON supporters travelling to Coventry tonight can benefit from a £10 admission offer.

The Brandon club have extended the offer to £10 admission for all adults, with no previous tickets required. Under 16s go free.
