SWINDON Town have sought to clarify the future of on-loan goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux, confirming the player will be available for selection this weekend.

Mark Cooper last night confirmed that Vigouroux had returned to the fold following his dropping from Saturday's defeat against Colchester, having apologised to the manager and the squad amid reports he had missed training, then paid a club fine in pennies.

Vigouroux returned to Liverpool but Town insist that was to explain his actions and that his loan agreement was never terminated. The goalkeeper watched Town's 2-2 draw at Doncaster at the Keepmoat Stadium, with Tyrell Belford playing in goal.

A club statement read: "Swindon Town can confirm that on-loan goalkeeper, Lawrence Vigouroux’s absence from the starting line-up last Saturday was as a result of an individual indiscretion.

"Vigouroux was late to a training session last week and was subsequently withdrawn from the starting XI against Colchester United.

"After the weekend, he was called to a meeting in Liverpool by his parent club’s academy staff to explain his actions.

"Following on from this meeting, Vigouroux has now returned to SN1 and will be available for selection again by Swindon Town this weekend. Contrary to reports, his loan agreement has not been terminated.

"The club considers this disciplinary matter to have now been dealt with and would like to move on swiftly.''

This afternoon Vigouroux himself added a public apology to the one given to manager Cooper and the squad.

In a statement via Twitter, he said: "I would like to apologise to all my teammates at Swindon Town, the staff and the fans for my actions last week.

"I would now like to put this business behind me and express my gratitude for being given another chance.

"I am fully focussed on helping the team achieve our goals this season.''
