ALAN Blake was on top of the world after his KC Globe side sent Worton & Cherell spinning out of the Wiltshire Sunday Cup.

The Division One outfit were able to put 21 goals past their West Lavington rivals without reply to progress to the next round with ease.

Meanwhile, a hat-trick from Levi Cox was enough to see Walcot progress in the same competition.

Cox opened the scoring against Corsham Centre Youth in the first-half before a double in the second period added to a Lee Hayward strike to complete the 4-0 scoreline.

Walcot manager Paul Newman is hoping that adding strength in depth to his side over the summer will help them push on this season after finishing runners-up to Greyhound in their fist campaign in the top flight last year.

“I’m very pleased with the result and we have had a very good start to the season so far,” he said. “In the second half they lost a centre back after a clash of heads with our centre forward and they have had a sending off and we have dominated the game since then.

“We did struggle with minimum players last year, but we seem to have established a squad this season and results have shown that.

“We’re looking to do well in all competitions because we came close last season - runners up in the league and a final of a cup.”

Meanwhile, Cricklade Rangers caused a shock as the Division Five outfit completed a 2-1 win over Division Three’s Moovahome, while Cricklade MTA were 8-2 winners over Barford Hornets.

In the league, reigning Division One champions Greyhound dropped their first points of the campaign as they were held to a 3-3 draw by Deers Leap, while AFC Gas got their first win of the season as they inflicted a first defeat on top-of-the-league Penhill United with a 3-1 victory.

Shrivenham maintained their 100 per cent league record with a 4-3 win over Moonrakers in Division Two.

FS Swindon lifted themselves to fourth with a first win as they beat Fairford 6-1, while Wanborough completed a 6-2 win over Cleeve Tech and West Swindon Wanderers were 2-1 victors over G Power Solutions.

In Division Three, Woodlands Edge had to fight off a resilient Eldene as they kept their perfect record in the league with a 4-3 win, while Stratton Saints were 11-0 winners over AFC Wedge.

Will Hooton scored six for the hosts to add to a hat-trick from Steve Norris, a diving header from Dean Ramshaw and a strike from Richard New to lift them to third in the table.

“After some poor results I just thought that we put in a very good performance,” said manager Mike Spring.”

In Division Four, Croft Juniors got their first win of the season in emphatic style as they put 11 past Coleshill Youth without reply, while, in Division Five, Save On Tyres Athletic went top with a 2-1 win over Athletico Marlborough.
