SWINDON Town midfielder Yaser Kasim has been called up by Iraq for their World Cup 2018 qualifier against Chinese Taipei next week.
The 24-year-old will join up with his Iraqi teammates after tomorrow’s FA Cup trip to Rochdale and will miss Town’s home clash with Scunthorpe on Saturday, November 17.
Kasim, who has been capped 16 times by his country, was an unused substitute when the two side met in Tehran in September, with Iraq running out 5-1 winners.
And the former Tottenham youngster will be hoping that Iraq will be able to close the gap on Group F leaders Thailand when they face Chinese Tapei at the National Stadium in Kaohsiung as part of the second round of Asian Football Confedaration (AFC) qualifying.
