MOOVAHOME chief Karl Easterbrook always backed his side to come good after they became the final team to register a win in Division Three, with a hard-fought 3-2 success at Eldene.

Easterbrook’s men had collected just one point from their opening six league games, although they were not helped by a tough fixture list as they have already played the top six teams in the table.

The Moovahome boss said it was only a matter of time before his team turned the corner and now has no doubts that they can climb the standings.

“It has been a bit of a false story and all the teams we have played so far have been up at the top or on unbeaten runs,” said Easterbrook.

“I knew it was going to come and now we have only got one more game before Christmas and we have to look to get another win and come back from the break with two straight wins under our belts.

“We are only five points off fifth place and I don’t see us really having any problems in this league.”

New recruit Ryan Thackray fired a late winner for Moovahome after Alvaro Redondo had pulled them back to 2-2. Eddie Salsbury struck in the first half as Easterbrook’s men trailed 2-1 at the break.

Easterbook added: “We are very pleased. We beat Eldene in the cup but lost in the league game, so we knew we were capable of getting a good result.

“It is always a tough game with them, they are a decent team. It probably should have been a draw but we lucked out. We didn’t give up and in the end I think we got what we deserved.”
