SWINDON ladies returned to winning ways in Premier 2A with a 4-1 success at local rivals Chippenham.

The visitors took the lead in the opening minute when Vicky Stokes deflected a penalty corner home.

Swindon doubled their advantage soon after when skipper Gemma Scrase scrambled the ball home after a penalty corner move.

Teenager Chloe Lewis added the third after being played in by Scrase before Chippenham reduced the arrears on the stroke of half-time.

The second period was a balanced affair with Chippenham working hard in midfield and up front.

After some strong defensive work from Julie Lewis and, player of the match, Claire Tyas, Swindon scored a final goal when Adrianna Bollousa flicked home a penalty corner rebound.

Swinon men’s first team were held to a 2-2 draw in Conference North against Team Bath Buccaneers B.

Both sides gave little away in the first half with Lewis Dyer going close for the visitors and Jim Patrick and Tom Goldsmith failing to convert their opportunities for Swindon.

The second half started more brightly for Swindon, who pressed Bath and managed to win the ball in some crucial areas of the pitch.

The breakthrough came following a flowing passing move that saw Henry Cheney rifling the ball past the keeper.

Bath, however, quickly levelled matters with a good team goal of their own.

The game then became quite stretched, with both teams taking it in turns to go on the attack.

A poor pass from captain Luke Cejer led to Bath taking the lead with a reverse effort which managed to wrong- foot keeper Alan Gough. Swindon pressed on again and managed to win a short corner which was finished by Cejer.
