LUKE Hopper bagged a hat-trick for Swindon Supermarine as they thrashed Shortwood United 5-1 in Southern League Division One South and West.

Ryan Stanners and Joe Shepherd were also on target for Dave Webb's side.

Meanwhile Royal Wootton Bassett Town manager Paul Braithwaite insists that his side will be going all out for success in the in the Floodlit Cup tomorrow night.

The Gerrard Buxton Sports Ground side entertain the Gloucestershire outfit in the third round of the competition looking to build on their 2-1 success over Bracknell Town at the weekend.

That victory in the Hellenic League Premier Division saw Braithwaite’s men bounce back from a 2-0 reverse against Milton United.

“Every competition is important – it is about momentum for us,” Braithwaite said.

“There were three games where we had New College, Tytherington and Bracknell in the cups and that gave us an opportunity to get back on track and give us confidence and we have to do that again.

“Our main concern this year has been the availability, either through injury or suspension.

“We have had some shocking injuries this year and some poor decision go against us.

“I think that we are getting more consistent, but we need to keep an eye on our discipline and keep more players on the field.”
