SWINDON Town Ladies will look to finally get their title challenge back on track when they tackle their first league assignment in over three months tomorrow.

Steve Robertson’s side have completed just seven matches in the FA Women’s Premier League South West Division One – they are unbeaten so far – and haven’t played a league fixture since a 1-1 draw with Keynsham Town on November 1.

Town’s inactivity has been caused by a raft of postponed fixtures and clashes in cup competitions but look set to finally get back to the bread and butter of league action when they make the trip to Maidenhead United (kick-off 2pm).

Robertson’s troops are currently sixth in the table with five matches in hand on table-toppers Larkhall Athletic whilst Maidenhead, who were dispatched 2-0 by Town at Barrington Park when the two teams met in September, are just a point ahead in fifth.

Manager Robertson said: “It will be good to get back into the league and try and catch up on our league fixtures.

“The cup games are great but we do need to focus on our league programme. Maidenhead gave us a good game at our place, when they were new to the league, and they have now settled into the higher grade, so we can expect a tough match.”

Town will be without Abby Picton for their trip to Berkshire but will otherwise have a full squad to select from.

Their FA Women’s Premier League Cup quarter-final clash with Nottingham Forest, which was postponed last weekend, has been rearranged for Sunday, February 21.

SQUAD: Robyn Levett, Alice Smith, Sam Quinn, Serena Smith, Ellie Maynard, Alison Witts, Chyna Collings, Michelle Rich, Beth Westlake, Sarah Uzzell, Alex Hurst, Chenise Austin, Sally Butterfield and Meg Attenborough.

SWINDON Town U18s are on the hunt for silverware after making the southern section final of the Youth Alliance Cup.

Scott Lindsey’s side, who finished seventh in the Youth Alliance South West table, will travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town on Tuesday, February 23 (kick-off 7pm) after beating Cheltenham Town 1-0 last Tuesday.
