SWINDON Robins' clash away at Coventry Bees in the Elite League this evening has been called off due to a late downpour of rain.
Despite a clear skies being forecast throughout the evening at Brandon Stadium, a sudden heavy shower hit the track at around 7.10pm leaving the track soaked.
The meeting was subsequently called off just before the riders were due to parade at 7.30pm, much to the disappointment of the gathered crowds.
The rain promptly stopped after the annoucement but it was deemed that the track would not recover sufficiently to allow racing to commence.
No date has yet been set for the rescheduled fixture, although the two sides are due to do battle on Monday anyway as the Bees travel to the Abbey Stadium.
