BRISTOL Rovers fans are planning to boycott the re-arranged game with Swindon Town after being dealt a further blow.

Supporters of Town’s local rivals were already left perturbed last week when they were told that they would have to fork out again to watch the game that was curtailed after 59 minutes due to a torrential downpour at the County Ground.

Despite being told over the public address system that they should keep hold of ticket stubs for the re-arranged fixture, Town have moved to charge non-season ticket holders the full price of the game to cover the costs of putting on the new fixture.

Three thousand fans travelled down the M4 10 days ago, with the majority stood in the uncovered Stratton Bank.

That won’t be an option for those wishing to watch the re-arranged match, with Town not opening the fourth stand for the Tuesday night match.

Instead, the match is being treated like a regular fixture with an initial 914 tickets sent to Rovers.

However, that will leave many fans having to pay more than they did for the original game if they want to watch their side.

The majority of the Bristol supporters had paid £19 to watch from the Stratton Bank but with that not an option, fans face the prospect of paying an extra £6 to watch from the Arkells Stand.

Rovers have announced that they will cover the cost of coach travel to Swindon on Tuesday, September 20, for those who can produce a ticket stub from the original fixture and are also offering fans half-price tickets for their League One fixture against Walsall at the Memorial Stadium on September 13, to anyone who buys an early bird ticket for Saturday’s game against Rochdale.
