OLDHAM boss Stephen Robinson exempted only two players from a withering analysis of his team’s performance at Boundary Park.

The Latics chief was hugely unimpressed by his side’s efforts against a rejuvenated Swindon Town as a goal in each half condemned them to a fifth match without a win at home this season.

Taking aim at a lack of intensity from his players, Robinson admitted: “It was really disappointing and there is no hiding away from it.

“That’s the poorest we have been and I don’t think it’s often that you see nine players that don’t come to the game.

“We lacked intensity, we lacked desire, which is something that’s not been associated with us in any of the games.

“Only two players that can come out with any credit is (goalkeeper) Connor Ripley, who I thought was excellent, and Peter Clarke.

“Everyone else needs a long hard look in the mirror and I share a big portion of the blame.

“I put players in and gave them a chance again due to a really good performance at Coventry last week but there are people champing at the bit now to get in and now is the time to make changes, I feel.

“I completely understand the frustrations of the crowd, and I’m with them as well, but the good news is that we won’t play that bad(ly) again.”

Robinson reckons Ripley saved his side from suffering a bigger beating as Town settled for goals from Jonathan Obika and Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill to hand them the three points.

“Connor has been superb the whole time he’s been here,” he added.

“There are a few people in the dressing room that need to buy Connor a drink or shake his hand because it could have been four or five and one of his saves was world class.

“He is one of the few that came out with credit.”
