Adver Sport’s Matt Edwards gives out his player ratings from Swindon Town’s 1-1 draw at Shrewsbury Town this afternoon.

Lawrence Vigouroux: 7

Attempted to come out and close the gap for Ivan Toney for the goal but could only watch on as it trickled past. A fine save in the dying minutes to deny AJ Leitch-Smith.

Darnell Furlong: 7

Looked bright in the first half when getting forward down the right and delivered well for John Goddard’s goal. Less impact in the second half.

Conor Thomas: 5

Showed that defence is not his natural position when caught out by Ivan Toney for the hosts' goal and struggled with the physical presence of the Shrews striker.

Nathan Thompson: 6

Was allowed to get forward on many an occasion in the first half as Shrewsbury sat off Town but was less involved in the game in the second period.

Raphael Branco: 6

Had his hands full, especially against Adam El-Abd at set-pieces, but battled hard all game.

Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill: 6

Got forward well down the left, particularly in the first half, but needed more from his final ball.

Yaser Kasim: 5

Has struggled a bit of late and while still having a pivotal role in the heart of the Town midfield, was not involved as much as he would like.

John Goddard: 8

Took his first goal for Town very well as he ghosted in and headed home in the box. Worked hard all game to be involved as much as possible and link up play.

Sean Murray: 7

His skill on the ball is clear for all to see. He faded in the second half as his lack of match fitness took its toll.

Jonathan Obika: 6

Provided the physical presence up front for Town but clear-cut chances were few and far between, and he wasn’t able to trouble Jayson Leutwiler.

Nathan Delfouneso: 5

Put himself about a lot as he looked for his first goal and did well at putting the Shrewsbury keeper under pressure but again, little end product

Subs:

Luke Norris (On for Delfouneso 67’): 6

Given a golden chance by Goddard shortly after arriving but lacked the composure and possibly the confidence to finish.

James Brophy (On for Ormonde-Ottewill 79’): 6

Enjoyed the same space down the left as his predecessor but was unable to get in any meaningful crosses in the dying minutes.
