LAWRENCE VIGOUROUX – 5

Hardly a busy day at the office so no fine saves to speak off but was caught off his line for the opening goal.

DARNELL FURLONG – 4

Carelessness in possession allowed the Saddlers to break the deadlock and did nothing to redeem himself after that.

CONOR THOMAS – 5

Seemed uneasy up against the pace of Makris in what was by far his least comfortable outing in this makeshift position.

NATHAN THOMPSON – 5

Not a game that required a string of crucial challenges so perhaps should have taken the responsibility of nullifying dangerman Oztumer.

JAMES BROPHY – 4

A really quiet game and was not involved as an attacking threat but did not have a lot of defending to do either. Replaced at half-time.

ANTON RODGERS – 6

Played some lovely balls into his attacking colleagues and did as well as anyone in a bad day for the team overall.

YASER KASIM – 5

Tried to be busy but Town needed him to take the game by the scruff of the neck and it was only a bits and pieces performance.

JOHN GODDARD – 4

Finished strongly but the game was already up and it could not make up for an anonymous opening 70 minutes.

SEAN MURRAY – 6

Drove the ball forward with purpose in the first half and looked Town’s biggest threat but was less effective the longer the game went on.

ELLIS IANDOLO – 5

Some nice passes and good runs early on but faded quickly and did not offer much in the second half before being taken off just after the hour.

NATHAN DELFOUNESO – 5

Showed some lovely touches but did not see enough of the ball and could not build on his important goal in midweek.

Substitutes:

BRADLEY BARRY – 4

(For Brophy, 45) Caught out of position for Walsall’s first attack after his introduction and looked uncomfortable on the left.

LUKE NORRIS – 4

(For Iandolo, 65) Town went two up top in an effort to chase the game but the striker had no impact whatsoever.
