SWINDON Robins supporters have come up trumps again with the biggest contribution of the season to the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund.
From the collections staged at each track in 2016, the £1,865 raised at the Abbey Stadium during the Robins’ clash with King’s Lynn Stars was the highest.
It’s the second successive season that Swindon have topped the charts, as their supporters raised a staggering £3,412 in 2015 shortly after the serious injuries suffered by Darcy Ward.
Co-promoter Alun Rossiter said: “Our thanks go out to all of the kind and generous fans, as well as everyone else who donated on the night, for their contributions.”
