Adver sport looks at tonight's opponents in the Checkatrade Trophy : LUTON TOWN

THE CHALBOARD

SWINDON Town head coach Luke Williams will know more than most about how Nathan Jones will approach the Checkatrade Trophy game as they worked alongside each other at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Swindon Advertiser:
Luton Town manager Nathan Jones

Jones had been at the seaside club for three years but left his role as a first team coach in order to become manager at Kenilworth Road, penning a two-and-a-half year deal.

The Hatters are currently sitting in fifth place in League Two with only four defeats in the league so far this campaign.

It would be fair to say the 43-year-old isn’t the biggest fan of the Trophy as the club picked up a £15,000 fine for fielding weakened sides in the group stage of the competition against Millwall, Gillingham and West Browich Albion Development.

LIKELY LINE-UP:

MAN IN FORM: Danny Hylton

Swindon Advertiser:
Danny Hylton

Town will have to be wary of striker Danny Hylton as the 27-year-old has netted 13 times already this season, including a hat-trick against Wycombe Wanderers in September.

Before signing for the Bedfordshire side, the striker had struggled to get regular minutes at Rotherham, Bury and AFC Wimbledon before signing for Oxford United in 2014.

The 6ft striker then joined Luton after rejecting an improved contract at the Kassam Stadium after he scored 26 times in 75 appearances for the club over a two year period.

Since his arrival, Hylton has been in good form this season, with eight of his 13 goals coming in his last 10 appearances.

The former Bury frontman got on the scoresheet at the weekend during Luton’s 6-2 win over National League side Solihull Moors.

TREATMENT ROOM

Swindon Advertiser:
Craig Mackail-Smith

LUTON Town will be without winger Danny Green as the 28-year-old continues to recover from a broken tibia and fibia, which he suffered at the end of last season.

Nathan Doyle, who joins him as a long-term absentee, will also be sidelined for Luton’s trip to the County Ground after the 29-year-old ruptured his Achilles in pre-season.

Newcastle loanee Alex Gillead was subbed off at the weekend with 15 minutes left to play after the 20-year-old picked up a knock in their 6-2 win, but is expected to be fit for selection.

It was a similar story for James Justin as he was also subbed off at the weekend after a clash of heads but like Gillead, the 17-year-old midfielder is fit for selection.

Scotland international Craig Mackail-Smith could make a return after the 32-year-old has been eased back into first team action after he too broke his leg in March during a 1-0 win over Plymouth Argyle.
