SWINDON Town are still sweating on the fitness of Yaser Kasim, as well as full-back duo James Brophy and Bradley Barry ahead of Saturday’s trip to Sheffield United.

Midfielder Kasim, who hasn’t featured since being forced off in the first half of Town’s FA Cup first round replay defeat to Eastleigh on October 15 with an ankle injury, is closing in on a return but was forced to pull out of a recent training session as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Brophy, who was hampered by breathing problems last month and was withdrawn at half-time during Saturday’s win over Bradford City, will be assessed before Swindon depart for Bramall Lane, likewise Barry, who has missed his side’s last three games with a hamstring problem picked up against Rochdale on November 19.

“Yaser’s still struggling partly,” said Town head coach Luke Williams.

“He’s training and he’s almost there but just feeling something in training from time to time and pulled out the other day, just as a precaution.

“We’re close but we just need that last bit now.

“James, again, is working with the physiotherapist but there’s a good chance he’ll train today and tomorrow, and then we’ll be taking a view.

“Bradley is, again, training, but we need to take a view probably after training on Friday and be sure that we know what we can get from Bradley.”
