SWINDON Town have confirmed the signing of midfielder Rohan Ince on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

As was first reported this morning, the 24-year-old former Chelsea trainee has become Swindon’s seventh signing of the January transfer window and the seventh player currently on loan at the County Ground.

Ince is also the second player to join Town today, following striker Nicky Ajose, who returned on loan from Charlton Atheltic earlier this afternoon.

Ince joined Championship side Brighton in 2013 and has made 72 appearances for the south coast club.

Last February, Ince moved on loan to Fulham, making 10 appearances and scoring one goal, and this year has been a fringe player at the Amex, having only featured in cup competitions.

Town fans will best remember the holding midfielder for his wonder strike for Brighton at the County Ground during Swindon’s Capital One Cup tie with Brighton in August 2014, which opened the scoring in a 4-2 defeat after extra-time.

With Town already well past their full quota of five loan signings allowed in a matchday squad, this could indicate a temporary signing heading back to their parent club or a juggling act for Swindon head coach Luke Williams.

Ince is due in court on February 13 after pleading not guilty to assaulting a bouncer with a bottle of Jack Daniels at a club in Windsor in the early hours of December 25, 2015.

The 24-year-old, who made his first appearance at Reading Crown Court last August, was released on bail with the condition that he must not enter any licensed premises in the borough of Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead.
