JAMIE Cox has been released from his promotional agreement with Queensberry Promotions.
The former WBO European super-middleweight champion today announced, via Twitter, that he is no longer being promoted by Frank Warren and his sons.
He tweeted: “I have been released by Queensberry Promotions Limited on confidential commercial terms. No further statements will be made.”
Cox, who has not fought since his 10-round war of attrition with Martin Fidel Rios in October, has been continually frustrated in a bid to find an opponent over the past 12 months.
However, the Swindon southpaw will have a keen eye on Saturday night’s British title super-middleweight clash between John Ryder and Rocky Fielding at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
The British Boxing Board of Control has ordered that the winner must defend the Lonsdale strap against the undefeated 30-year-old next.
