SWINDON Robins rider Adam Ellis will have to do battle with former champions Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris if he is to reach the British Final after being pitted in the same semi-final as the pair next week.
Ellis, who is also going for glory in the British U21 Final at Poole Pirates’ Wimborne Road stadium on Wednesday, goes in the second of two 16-man semis in the senior competition on Thursday, May 4.
Nicholls, a record seven-time champion, tops the billing for the meeting at Sheffield Tigers’ Owlerton Stadium, alongside Rye House Rockets team-mate and three-time winner Harris.
Defending champion Danny King leads the 16-man line-up for the first semi-final on Sunday, April 30, at Brough Park, home of Newcastle Diamonds.
The top eight riders from each semi qualify for the British Final at Belle Vue Aces’ National Speedway Stadium in Manchester on Monday, June 19.
