SWINDON Town Ladies' future in the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division continues to hang in the balance after a 3-1 defeat at home to Coventry United Ladies this evening.
At Shrivenham’s Barrington Park, Maz Gauntlett volleyed the visitors ahead shortly after the break before Helen Dermody scrambled home a second.
Alison Hall scored her 20th goal of the season to all but wrap up the tie for Coventry, with a late strike for Swindon proving little more than a consolation goal.
Swindon now sit just three points above Queens Park Rangers Ladies, who have two games in hand, at the foot of the table.
However. with the two sides meeting on the final day of the season at Barrington Park, Town’s only game left to play, Steve Robertson’s side know a win will be enough to prevent them finishing bottom, courtesy of a far superior goal difference.
