HAYDON Wick proved to be spot on when winning the Swindon Primary Schools Cup 2-0 on penalties at the weekend.

At the end of normal time on Saturday at Millbrook Primary School, the two sides could not be separated after Wick levelled late in the second half following an early goal from Ruskin.

After a goalless extra-time the match went to penalties with the Wick saving all five of the Ruskin spot-kicks to see his side lift the cup for the first time.

In the Girls’ Cup final, St Mary’s CoE school were celebrating after beating Shaw Ridge 5-1.

St Mary’s took a 2-0 lead into the break before Shaw Ridge halved the deficit.

However, the two-goal advantage was quickly restored following a goalmouth scramble before two more goals for St Mary’s sealed the win.

The Primary Schools’ Plate final was another match that had to be settled by penalties with St Catherine’s RC taking the honours after a hard fought match with Swindon Academy.

The match ended with the two teams tied at 2-2 before the contest went to spot kicks.

St Catherine’s stopper saved all five of Swindon’s penalties with the winner netting just the once.

Covingham Park required just 12 seconds to take the lead in their Shield final clash with Liden.

After the early Covingham goal, Liden managed to draw level five minutes later.

However, eight minutes into the second half, Covingham regained their lead and held out to lift the Shield.
