I THOUGHT I’d turned a corner with my season after doing so well in our away win at Belle Vue Aces on Friday night but now it seems like I am back to square one.

I had a new engine for that meeting and my performance there was really good as I scored a paid 12 points from four rides. But then it blew up on Sunday and that wasn’t good.

Up at Belle Vue, it was the best I have felt all season. I finally had something under me that actually had a bit of power.

I wasn’t up against it like I have been for most of the season, I could just get on, twist the throttle and let the bike do the work for me.

It made it easy work and it felt like I couldn’t lose a race because it was going that well for me. It was good to feel like that for one night at least.

I’d had a disappointing meeting the night before at Swindon so I picked up that new engine on Friday afternoon, drove straight up to Belle Vue and put it in the bike and had a really good meeting.

Then I used it again on Sunday for my Championship club Peterborough and it blew up.

That meant I was on borrowed equipment for our meeting at Leicester Lions on Monday and I struggled all night.

That engine wasn’t really suitable for that track up at Leicester and a performance like that wasn’t really what I needed after doing so well in the meeting before. It’s a really frustrating time for me at the moment.

The team still managed to win up at Leicester and that’s three wins in five days so we are on a bit of a roll at the moment.

The next thing is to all start performing on the same night. One or two of us normally do really well while one or two of us struggle. Usually, I have been one of the guys that has been under-performing lately and that’s been disappointing.

If we all click at the same time, I am sure we can make a push towards the top places in the league. Hopefully we can come to that point soon.

We are in the middle of a really busy schedule at the moment and that continues when we go to Poole Pirates this evening.

We beat them away from home earlier in the season so there is no reason why we can’t go there and win again.

Since Tobiasz Musielak came into the team last week it has made us stronger. Hopefully he gets on well with the track down in Poole and we can all chip in with a few points and keep our good run going.
