Adver Sport’s Harry Abbott assesses the performances of Swindon Town’s players in today’s 1-1 draw against Exeter City at the County Ground.

LAWRENCE VIGOUROUX – 8

Some wonderful reaction saves from the Town stopper and only the post scuppered his attempt to keep out Exeter’s goal.

BEN PURKISS – 8

Stood up well to the threat of Holmes on the left and was a clam an assured presence at the back.

CHRIS ROBERTSON – 7.5

A steady and reliable figure in defence and was measured in all his tackles. Marshalled Reid’s physicality nicely too.

OLLY LANCASHIRE – 7.5

A little tentative early on but another body-on-the-line showing from the skipper, summed up by finishing the game with a head bandage.

CHRIS HUSSEY – 7

His set-pieces were not as threatening as we have seen but still looked lively on the left for the home side.

JAMES BROPHY – 7.5

Bundles of pace, worried his full-back with probing drives forward and his delivery into the box is improving all the time too.

JAMES DUNNE – 7

All action in the middle as he snuffed out and time and space for the Grecians to work with. A big appetite for a challenge. Booked.

AMINE LINGANZI – 9

A dominant presence in the heart of the pitch. Won plenty of possession, drove forward with purpose and showed a good eye for a pass too.

DONAL MCDERMOTT – 5

Hampered by injury in the first week of the season and although he looked to get involved, struggled to make a real impact. Subbed at half-time.

PAUL MULLIN – 7

After two livewire performances, can be forgiven for looking quieter this afternoon but still ran himself into the ground for the cause.

HARRY SMITH – 6

Used his size nicely at times and sent in one good shot but did not have the same impact as at Norwich in midweek and was withdrawn at the break.

Substitutes:

LUKE NORRIS – 8

(For Smith, 46) Made an instant impression and shook up the Exeter defence with his power and presence.

KAIYNE WOOLERY – 8

(For McDermott, 46) Dream debut with a point-saving goal and looked to terrorise the visiting back-line with bursts of speed.

CONOR THOMAS – 6

(For Brophy, 84) Only on for a handful of minutes but did whatever was required to close out the game.

Subs not used: Will Henry, Ellis Iandolo, Tom Smith, Dion Conroy.
