One to watch – Kristian Dennis
ALTHOUGH it is hard to imagine life being much tougher for Chesterfield at present as they sit rock bottom of the Football League, things would be a lot worse without the efforts of Kristian Dennis.
As his team continue to struggle, the Spireites striker has still carved out an astonising record of 10 goals in 19 games in all competitions this season.
That is more than half of Chesterfield’s squad total of 19 goals so far in 2017-18, with only two other players having netted more than once.
Although the 27-year-old drew a blank in the FA Cup defeat at Bradford City at the weekend, he has four goals in his last five games in League Two, including scoring in each of the last three fixtures.
Key battle - Paul Mullin v Joe Anyon
AS well as scoring goals, keeping clean sheets as also been a problem for Chesterfield this season as they have recorded just three shut-outs in 20 matches.
Other than Kristian Dennis, it is hard to see much of an attacking threat in the Spireites team so their hopes of success may well be built on a solid defensive effort.
Town forward Paul Mullin has three goals in his last four games and is sure to fire in plenty of shots on keeper Joe Anyon’s goal.
