ROYAL Wootton Bassett A came from four goals down at half-time to win a closely-fought match 44-35 against Delta A in Division Two of the Swindon & District League.

Bassett got off to a good start, but Delta hauled themselves back with the first quarter ending 12-12.

The movement down the court was outstanding and both teams produced some excellent turnovers.

Bassett managed to use most of them, to keep control and stay playing their own game.

However, at half-time Delta A were four goals in front.

Yet the Bassett players kept their heads up and continued to work hard as a unit in what was a very physical game.

There were some fantastic feeds in to the shooters, who put away some great shots.

Jess Sutton was named the Wootton Bassett team’s players’ player.

Lawn B beat Raychem C 39-30 in another Division Two match.

Lawn took an early lead but they were unable to maintain it and it was dead level at half-time.

After making some tactical changes, Lawn edged their way forward in the second half to win by nine goals, with goal attack Holly Atkins named their player of the match.

Lawn C were beaten 50-36 by Fairford A in a fast-paced Division Two game.

Fairford capitalised after forcing Lawn into a number of errors.

Fairford edged into the lead in the first quarter and increased it slightly with every subsequent quarter.

A change of players for Lawn in the final quarter could not see them bridge the gap.

Wing attack Holly Singleton was player of the match.

Lawn D edged home 40-37 against Royal Wootton Bassett C in Division Four.

A slow start for Lawn enabled Bassett to take an advantage into half-time.

Regrouping from five goals down, some great defence work led by Fliss Tilley allowed Lawn to take charge of the contest, and they pulled away to win it by three goals. Goal attack Hannah Simpson was Lawn’s star player.

In Division Five, Burmah C beat Lawn E 33-27.

Burmah took an early lead which Lawn were unable to fight back from. But Lawn fought hard, with some great interceptions by Em Osbourne, who was named their player of the match.

Some great shooting from goal attack Abbie Simpson, the player of the match, helped Lawn RL 3 beat Bristol Storm 56-47 for their third consecutive win.
