PINEHURST A moved three points clear at the head of Swindon League Division One by edging home 45-43 in their top-of-the-table clash with Lawn A.

A slow start for Lawn saw Pinehurst forge 12 goals clear by half-time.

Fighting hard in the last quarter, Lawn managed to get within two, but Pinehurst held on. Sophie Bull was named Lawn’s player of the match.

In Division Two, high-flying Lawn B edged home 29-28 against Nationwide B, with Goal Attack Holly Atkins their player of the match.

It was a rainy start to the late-morning Division Two match between Croft B and Royal Wootton Bassett A.

Bassett WD Jady Dunphy suffered an injury in the first few minutes, which ended the match for her.

Bassett went into the second quarter four goals behind, but came back strongly to take the lead.

Croft then also experienced injuries that ended the match for two of their players.

Bassett played some controlled netball despite the wet conditions and went on to win 42-34 for their second win of the campaign. Holly Aitkenhead was Bassett’s player of the match.

Delta A chalked up their first win of the season in Division Two, 37-24 against Fairford A, after making changes within their team. Genevieve Sweeney was their player of the match Division Four leaders Moonraker came back from last week’s defeat to beat Pinehurst D 59-22. Amy Eldred received Moonrakers’ POM.

Lawn D are third in the table after overcoming rivals RWB B 40-38.

A slow start for Bassett saw them 10 goals down by the third quarter, but a strong fighting spirit them close. Lauren Twine was Lawn’s player of the match and Lisa Rutter was Bassett’s.

RWB C were another team to make a slow start, in their Division Four match against Raychem E, who surged ahead in the first quarter.

However a resilient Bassett pulled it back to win 41-32 with Jess Smith awarded RWB’s player of the match.
