Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players in tonight’s 2-1 defeat away at Accrington Stanley in League Two.

REICE CHARLES-COOK – 7

Made some decent stops in a strong response to his own disappointment against Lincoln last time out and couldn’t do much with either goal.

BEN PURKISS – 6

Solid enough in Town’s defensive trio but Accrington seemed most potent down the opposite side of the pitch. Booked.

OLLY LANCASHIRE – 7

Got in some important challenges and mopped up well when needed but will be disappointed with the second Accrington goal. Booked.

ROLLIN MENAYESE – 6

Some really strong pieces of defending were coupled with a few iffy moments in a solid if unspectacular first Town start.

KYLE KNOYLE – 6

Looked to capitalise on the acres of space afforded to him early on but drifted out of the game and was subbed.

OLLIE BANKS – 7

Neat at tidy as usual and was lively in the middle of the park. Sent in a couple of decent efforts on goal too. Booked.

JAMES DUNNE – 6

Worked hard but didn’t really get a stranglehold on the centre of the pitch as was subbed shortly after the break. Booked.

TIMI ELSNIK – 8

Excellent performance and made Town’s play tick. Seemed the catalyst for most of his side’s attacking output.

MATT TAYLOR – 7

Unlucky to concede the penalty as had looked decent until that point. Sent in some dangerous balls from the left.

LUKE NORRIS – 6.5

Didn’t get much in the way of a clear sight of goal but was a solid focal point of the Town attack.

MARC RICHARDS – 7.5

Was lively all evening when running the channels and kept his composure well for the penalty.

Substitutes:

PAUL MULLIN – 7

(For Dunne, 52) Added energy and won Town’s penalty.

KELLAN GORDON – 4.5

(For Knoyle, 52) Used his pace well and was harshly sent off.

KAIYNE WOOLERY – 5

(For Norris, 69) Lacked a bit of sharpness in a late cameo.

Subs not used: Stuart Moore, Chris Robertson, Ellis Iandolo.
