Swindon Town 0 Grimsby Town 1

Attendance - 6690

TOWN had a slow start to the game with Grimsby dominating the majority of attacks.

In the 10th minute Grimsby nearly took the lead when a cross came in from the right but Ryan McGivern managed to stick a foot in just in time and the ball was cleared from danger.

After that lucky escape Town started to take control of the game with Paul Mullin and Amine Linganzi having chance.

In the 29th minute Town found the back of the net after Marc Richards shot was saved and Paul Mullin headed in however it was unfortunately ruled out.

Eight minutes later Town hit the bar after Keshi Anderson played in Marc Richards and he tried placing it however it hit the crossbar and went out for a goal kick.

On the stroke of half-time Grimsby took the lead when Ryan McGivern was ruled to have tripped a Grimsby player in the box and gave away a penalty which was comfortably slotted in the bottom left corner.

Half-time: Swindon 0 Grimsby 1

Town kept going despite their setback and had a few chances at goal with Keshi Anderson having the best.

Town once again found themselves throwing everything at it however it just wasn’t their day and they find themselves in League Two once again next season.

Full-time: Swindon 0 Grimsby 1

My man of the match - Joseph Romanski for an impressive debut.
