SWINDON Robins' Adam Ellis continued his good start to the season by qualifying for the British Championship final last night.
The 22-year-old, who will feature for Alun Rossiter’s side in this evening’s clash with Somerset Rebels, came through a field of 16 riders to qualify for the final.
The Swindon man collected an eight-point haul in Leicester at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena yesterday night.
Ellis kickstarted proceedings with a win in the opening heat, in his second outing the former Poole Pirate added to his tally with a second-placed finish in heat eight.
With five points in the bag, Ellis added a further point in the 12th after finishing behind Chris Harris and Ashley Morris.
In heat 16, Ellis suffered bike problems which subsequently saw him disqualified, before adding three points to his total, which was enough to secure his spot in the final.
