THINGS are going really well for me at the moment and I think that comes down to having a bit of confidence.

Our team manager at Swindon Robins, Alun Rossiter, has given me lots of time on the bike, which has built my confidence over the last few months, and my performances in the last few meetings for the team are a result of that.

I did have a bit of a blip after the British U21 final, that was a hectic week and my head dropped a little bit.

Afterwards I gave myself a few days off, regrouped a little bit and then had some really good meetings.

I know I’ve been doing well at the Abbey Stadium, but I was most pleased with how I got on at Rye House away, because historically, I have never done well there.

It was a meeting I probably wasn’t looking forward to very much, so to come away with seven points was a boost to me and my confidence.

Rosco is great at giving you the chance to build belief in yourself. Last year I wasn’t winning many points before my injury and the team was doing well so he’d still let me have my four programme rides.

Previously, I have been at other clubs where if you struggle to get points, you struggle to get rides, so Rosco is definitely good at that.

I’m repaying him a little bit for the faith he showed in me, especially after my injury.

Even though I’m doing a bit better than what some people might expect, I don’t feel like there is any more pressure on me to perform. I am just going to keep doing what I am doing.

At the start of the season, with me and Mitchell Davey at reserve, a lot people didn’t think we would do very well.

Obviously it is such a shame what has happened to Mitch, but it is always good to score some points and show people I can help out with the top five as well.

As riders, you don’t really look into what people say about you because we just get on with it, we all go into every meeting and try our best to win for our team.

Once you get the taste of being able to score a few points in a meeting, you just want to be able to carry on doing it so that is what I am aiming to do.

I have great momentum at the moment and after this week, we have a bit of a gap where we don’t have many meetings, so I’m just trying to stay as busy as I can.
