LOUISE Hunt helped Team Great Britain bag bronze at the wheelchair tennis World Team Cup final in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, on Sunday afternoon.

The Wanborough-based international teamed up with Lucy Shuker and Lauren Jones to guide Team GB to a 2-0 victory against France in the bronze medal match.

Their appearance in the consolation final followed a 2-1 defeat to China in the semis on Saturday.

But thoughts of that loss didn’t linger for long, though, as 6-0 and 6-1 set victories for Shuker helped Team GB scoop a deserved bronze medal.

Hunt started the match with a tense 7-6 win over her opponent before claiming the next set to put GB 1-0 up after the first tie.

Star player Shuker then dominated her match by only dropping one game out of 13 to clinch the bronze medal for Great Britain.

Elsewhere in Apeldoorn, Great Britain’s men suffered a 2-0 defeat to Japan in their final as Shingo Kuniedo defeated Alfie Hewitt in the second contest to wrap up the gold medal.
