POTTERNE 2nd's flawless start to the Division One season continued unabated as they defeated Nationwide House by 20 runs in a low-scoring encounter.

The high flyers' fine start appeared under threat when they were dismissed for just 120 inside 37 overs, Mark Morris taking 4-18 for House.

But only Nick Clarke was able to conjure up much in the reply, his 42 the highlight as three wickets from Milan Perera helped Potterne end House's bid at 100 in the 40th over.

The villagers lead by a point from Hinton Charterhouse, who defeated Box by 14 runs.

Scores of 71 from John Newport and 50 by Chris Antrobus, plus 46 by Grant Sheppard, helped Hinton to 220-9.

Box lost only five wickets but came up short on 206 in reply.

Swindon 2nd were eight-wicket victors against Avebury, who were dismissed for 118 as Sam Husband, Scott McNeill, James Parkinson and Harry Chevis all took two wickets.

An unbeaten 58 from Sean Parker helped Swindon home inside 24 overs.

Great Bedwyn were 88-run winners over Malmesbury after reaching 173 all out, Robert Palmer scoring 61 and Chris Blundy 56.

Five wickets from Max Andrews (5-19) did the damage in the reply, Malmesbury limping to 85 all out in just under 34 overs.

Chris Bence hit 101 of Bear Flat's 257-3 against Winsley, whose reply stopped on 119 as Thomas Wheatley scored 44.

DIVISION TWO

ZAHEED Abbas hit 53 and Abrar Qureshi 54 in Swindon Nalgo's 205-9 against Biddestone 2nd.

Amanullah Adil then took 3-4 with just 14 balls as Biddestone were dismissed for 108.

Steve Copland took 6-10 in nine overs for Lacock, who dismissed Bath Hospitals for 69 in their three-wicket win.

Will Couzens took 4-31 and Matt Cole 3-27 to help Chippenham 2nd (156 all out) beat Beckington (152 all out) by four runs.

Swindon United Churches won their local skirmish with Swindon A, despite being dismissed for 135, with five A team bowlers taking two wickets.

Richard Martin's 4-13 saw Swindon dismissed for 81 as Churches won by 54 runs.

DIVISION THREE

George Macilwaine took 5-13 in eight overs as Goatacre 2nd dismissed White House for just 67 in their six-wicket triumph.

Four wickets each from Mark Styles (4-10) and Garreth Robb (4-11) helped Burbage & Easton Royal 2nd (162 all out) skittle out Marlborough 2nd for just 46.

Jack Humphrys hit 89 of Chippenham 3rd's 220-4 against Bradford on Avon, whose reply ended at 160 despite 54 by Craig Brennan, Robert Humphreys taking 3-28.

Sam Thurlow hit an unbeaten 100 but Potterne 3rd (224-8) failed to overhaul Keevil (230-8), for whom Simon Tyler (73) and Guy Perritt (63) excelled.

Ed Read hit 110 of Heytesbury & Sutton Veny's 173-6, Mark McMeeking taking 5-28 for Wroughton Wranglers.

Doug Small's 4-11 saw Wroughton stopped at 161 as Heytesbury won by 12 runs.

DIVISION FOUR

Jayke Hudd took 3-20 for Trowbridge 2nd to help halt Royal Wootton Bassett 2nd at 116-8 in their clash before Adam Bolton hit 59 in the winning reply of 117-5.

Richard Mansell hit 101 as Devizes 2nd reached 230-6 against Spye Park, who came up just shy at 216-9 in reply.

DIVISION FIVE

Melksham succumbed to their first defeat of the season in a top-of-the-table clash at free-scoring Erlestoke.

Erlestoke were 130-3 before Joe Dorgan smashed the Melksham bowlers to all parts, scoring 110 off just 51 balls with eight fours and seven sixes as his side reached 284-4.

Despite a quick-fire 69 off 64 balls from Tom Wallis, Melksham finished on 196 all out, Terry Evans taking 3-16.

Joe Dunn took 4-12 for Purton 2nd to help dismiss Goatacre 3rd for 86, Dave Allen's unbeaten 37 guiding Purton to a nine-wicket success.

DIVISION SIX

ANDY Pegg's 6-29 in nine overs for Sherston Magna allowed them to dismiss Blunsdon for 10, James Harmer's 51 securing a seven-wicket triumph.

Rob Robson hit 82 and Brian Christian 58 of Heytesbury & Sutton Veny 2nd's 244-9 and Luke Windsor's bowling (5-27) ensured Beckington were well short at 147 in the reply.

DIVISION SEVEN

MARK Turner clubbed 127 and Neil Skinner 61 as Warminster 3rd rattled up 265-3 against Beehive Southwick 2nd, Graham Cuthbertson taking 4-13 to condemn the reply to 81 all out.

Trowbridge 3rd and Swindon Nalgo 2nd ended tied, both sides scoring 199-9.

Ritesh Pal scored 63 for Trowbridge, Ali Khan taking 5-39 for Nalgo, while Aniketh Aniketh hit 42 for Nalgo, James taylor taking 5-18.

DIVISION EIGHT

The unbeaten start of Avebury 2nd was ended by a 17-run loss to Marshfield 3rd, who were dismissed for 114 as Kev Crookes took 4-14 and Harry Harrison 4-17.

The Avebury reply failed to reach three figures, being halted at 97 as Rob Iles took 4-3 in nine overs.

Andy Couzens took 5-21 for Chippenham 4th as they dismissed Bathford 2nd for 108.

Bathford were reply to Chippenham's 254-6, in which Jon Clark scored 62, Wayne Young 52 and Nathan Dunford 47.

Fine bowling from Edward Bollen (3-3 in three overs), Angus Bollen (4-11 in 3.4) and Lily Day (2-10 in six) helped Corsham 4th skittle out Box 2nd for just 31.

Earlier Corsham had rattled up 283-6, Corey Burgess with 66 and Ed Vickery 97.

Harmandeep Singh took 4-25 for Swindon B (205-9), who beat Calne 2nd (135 all out), Nicolas Viljoen having earlier scored 63.

DIVISION NINE

Richard Callaway's 92 guided Chippenham 5th (166-8) past Marlborough 3rd's 163-9.

Stuart Powell scored 54 in North Bradley's 154-8 against Wanborough 2nd, for whom Will Smith took 4-26.

Liam Wood took 3-9 in three overs of the reply which was stopped at 106.

Zak Trivedi took 3-27 as Buscot Park 2nd reduced Winsley 3rd to 87 all out, Andy Capper's 47 in the reply helping secure the win
