SWINDON Town will head to Spain following their second pre-season fixture against Melksham for a warm-weather training camp.

Phil Brown's troops, who also face friendly clashes against Chippenham Town, Swindon Supermarine, West Brom and Portsmouth, will fly out on Sunday, July 8, before returning home on the Friday.

The club is yet to confirm if Town will take part in any friendlies while in Spain, however they did mention details are being worked on.

Phil Brown told the club's website: "I like to keep pre-season interesting and it is a motivation for the players.

"We will be going to St George's Park to play Benfica and we will be going abroad to Spain for six days of warm-weather training as opposed to going to Waterford.

"It wasn't a bad idea going to Waterford but it is back in their season and their first-team isn't available, so playing their B team wasn't conducive to where we want to be.

"It is motivation again going to a different venue and a different training ground."
