MINOR individual errors cost Swindon Robins a league point against King's Lynn Stars tonight as Alun Rossiter’s troops slipped to a 49-41 loss at the Adrian Flux Arena in the SGB Premiership.

The Robins conceded a 4-2 in the final heat of the night when a 3-3 was required to earn what would’ve been a deserved league point.

However, unstoppable British Champion Robert Lambert stormed to his fifth race win of the evening - the Norfolk youngster posting a faultless 15-point maximum to ultimately send the Robins home pointless.

The meeting was defined by a series of individual riding errors, which on several occasions gifted the hosts an extra point in the respective races.

Swindon team manager Rossiter said: “Tobiasz (Musielak) lifted in his last race when he was in a good position, that would’ve made it a lot easier in the last for us had he held on.

“David (Bellego) should be beating their reserves. I know he’s just come back from injury but he’s better than that.

“Those moments were defining, but all in all, it was a good effort by everybody.”

The Robins were dealt a blow in heat two when Jack Smith crashed into the safety barrier at high speed after losing control of his machine in an unforced incident.

But the teenager, who promptly withdrew from the meeting, should be fit to take his place in the Robins’ home meeting against Wolverhampton Wolves on Monday.

Rossiter said: “We know Jack (Smith) is struggling at the moment but I believe we should’ve got a point tonight.

“Jack hit his elbow hard. He went down like a rag doll. He’s got until Monday to see how things are.”
