SWINDON Wildcats rounded off their preparations for the new campaign with home and away wins over Streatham in their final pre-season challenge matches.

Aaron Nell’s side were 4-3 winners at the Link Centre on Saturday and followed that up with a 6-1 success in London on Sunday, making it four victories from four in pre-season having also triumphed twice in a double-header against Bracknell Bees.

Swindon began the weekend with a narrow home victory, with Neil Liddiard and Streatham’s Adam Wood trading goals in an even first period.

The visitors struck first in the second through Michael Farn, but the Cats got themselves in front after goals from Chris Jones and Edgars Bebris.

Floyd Taylor moved the home side two goals to the good early in the final period, and although Ben Russell cut the deficit, Swindon held firm for victory.

The Cats followed that up with a dominant win in the return leg on the road, although only led narrowly after the first period thanks to a solitary Taylor strike.

Scott Bailey drew Streatham level in the second period, but Taylor hit the back of the net again before further strikes from Bebris and player-coach Nell put the visitors three goals to the good.

The onslaught continued in the final period and Max Birbraer got the ball rolling for the Cats again before Loris Taylor got their sixth goal of the night to round off a perfect weekend.
