SWINDON Town have completed their second signing of the summer by bringing in midfielder Adam May on loan from Portsmouth.

The 21-year-old has played 30 times for Pompey since making his debut at the age of 17 and arrives at Town on a season-long deal from Fratton Park.

He made just five appearances for the League One club last season after spending the first half of the campaign on loan at Aldershot Town in the National League.

May’s move to the Energy Check County Ground follows the arrival of Tyler Reid last Monday.

Full-back Reid became manager Richie Wellens’ first new signing of the summer after joining on a free transfer following his release from Championship side Swansea City.

Upon completing his move to Town, May told the club's official website: “I can’t wait to get started. Obviously, it’s a great club and, after speaking to the gaffer, I can only be positive for the season so I’m really looking forward to it.

"He’s told me the way he wants to play next season and I think that will suit me. I felt it was time to have a loan and hopefully I can show what I can do here.”

Town boss Wellens added: “Adam's a very good footballer, really clever. He has a terrific range of passing – short or long – so he gives us a different dimension.

“I’ve seen him five or six times myself and Noel Hunt (assistant manager) speaks very highly of him from his time with Portsmouth.”
