IAIN Harvey has tipped his Chippenham Town teammate Aaron Cornwall to make a name for himself in the professional game after the winger landed a trial with League One outfit Bournemouth, writes GARETH MOORHOUSE.
Cornwall turned out for the Cherries reserves in their 1-0 defeat to Swansea City on Wednesday and Harvey believes the 20-year-old has what it takes to join the pro game.
The Bluebirds captain said: "Aaron is a quality player who can definitely play at a higher standard.
"I'm not sure how long his trial is with Bournemouth but I wish him all the best. I know he can do it.
"He is a menace to any right-back in our league and he can whip in dangerous crosses with either foot.
"He's a really nice kid as well so I hope it all works out for him."
Cornwall's trial comes at the end of a turbulent week for the winger, who had to be restrained by club chairman Derek Hooper following an argument with a supporter.
That followed his sending off for violent conduct against Bromsgrove last Saturday, which added to the lengthy ban he received for getting sent off playing Sunday League football.
Cornwall is available however for tomorrow's trip to Yate Town, as Chippenham look to capitalise on Tuesday night's 5-0 thrashing of Bedford.
"The way we had been playing somebody was going to get a hiding," said Harvey.
"It could have been Corby, it could have Bromsgrove, but Bedford got it in the end. We scored five but it could easily have been more.
"I have always had belief in this squad from the very beginning.
"Yate will be another tough nut to crack, but we've got a decent record there so we have nothing to fear."
Cirencester Town boss Adie Viveash is hoping to exploit the cracks in the leaking Bashley defence when he takes his side to New Milton tomorrow.
Play-off contenders Bashley have conceded seven goals in their last two Southern League outings, and Viveash is targeting maximum points.
He said: "I went to watch Bashley play Hitchin the other night and they are a good footballing side.
"They walked the league (Division One South & West) last season and they have carried that form into this season.
"But the last couple of weeks they have started to ship a few goals and we need to take full advantage of that."
Midfielder Harry Etheridge is still suspended so former Swindon Town trainee Ashan Holgate could be in line for his first start.
