SWINDON Speedway will not now be staging the 60th Season Bonanza this year.
This follows news that the Blunsdon raceway will instead be hosting the re-staging of the prestigious Elite League Pairs Championship on 29 June.
Swindon will now be holding a 60th Anniversary meeting on Easter Sunday next year, 12 April 2009.
Club co-owner Terry Russell explained: "We had thought about putting our special meeting back anyway, before the Elite League Pairs Championship had to be re-scheduled.
"In consideration of our supporters, we felt that there were a lot of other big meetings going on in the same week, what with the Premier League Pairs Championship, the British Grand Prix, Steve Johnstone's Testimonial, Craig Boyce's Benefit and now the EL Pairs Championship.
"Now, at least, we can stage it as an Anniversary meeting next year and make a big occasion of it."
