BREAKING NEWS: Robins lose out in final heat at Eastbourne

ROBINS missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Elite League with a last-gasp 46-44 defeat at Eastbourne Eagles.

Alun Rossiter's men were in control of the opening exchanges and found themselves 16-14 up after heat five.

However a Scott Nicholls-inspired Eagles roared back and found themselves ahead right up to the death.

But with Seb Alden in inspired form, scoring paid 12, Robins levelled things at 42-42 going into the final heat.

Rossiter sent out skipper Leigh Adams and Travis McGowan for the decider, but they were beaten 4-2 by Nicholls and Ed Kennett to seal the win for Eastbourne.
