SPEEDWAY ELITE LEAGUE: Robins crash at Eastbourne

THEO Pijper was not given the perfect send off as the Robins slipped to a comfortable 50-43 defeat at Eastbourne.

The Dutchman was riding in his last meeting for the Elite League leaders after being axed but could only contribute a paid two in a below par team performance.

Leigh Adams was at his brilliant best, scoring 17 points, and James Wright was on song with a paid 10 but there were too many off performances for the visitors.

Former Robin Lee Richardson top scored for the hosts with 12 points.
