LEIGH Adams is refusing to buckle under the pressure of Pedersen-mania' as he aims to make up ground in the fourth round of this season's Grand Prix series in Copenhagen tonight.
The Robins' Aussie ace will compete at the home track of world no 1 and current pace-setter Nicki Pedersen tomorrow, vowing to put his mixed start to the Grand Prix well and truly behind him as he bids to take the world crown.
A superb 20-point haul in Poland last month was enough to claim victory for Adams, but that was sandwiched in between a disappointing five points in Slovenia and nine in Sweden.
And he knows it is time to start turning the heat up on Pedersen and keeping quiet a patriotic Danish crowd at the Parken Stadium.
"It's Nicki's home track so I'm sure he'll have plenty of support, but I'll be well up for it," admitted Adams.
"And it doesn't bother me about him racing in his own country. I'll just go out there, do what I do and hopefully it will be enough.
"I've got a good team behind me, good equipment and I'm going there confident of getting some good points on the board.
"There's four or five of us clicking at his heels and we've got to keep chipping away at him and the results will come.
"A final on Saturday and then another one in the next round in Cardiff (later this month) would be ideal and a great way to start getting back into it."
While the opening three rounds of the Grand Prix have been contested on natural tracks, tonight's Danish round is the first of the year to take place on a man-made circuit.
And while some riders may not fancy the idea of an indoor track, Adams is relishing the battle that lies ahead in Copenhagen.
He said: "I'm really looking forward to it. It's pretty exciting to be racing on an indoor track and there's always a good atmosphere.
"I like the indoor tracks - I don't mind them at all. Sometimes they're better than the natural ones.
"The indoor ones have been pretty kind to me.
"They're obviously different to the normal style, but I don't have any problems with them.
"The track at Copenhagen was very good last year and I'm really looking forward to it.
"We've been working pretty hard and are confident that we can get some good points on the board."
