Where there's a Mill, there's a way for Leigh

ALUN Rossiter insists Leigh Adams can recover from his early exit at the Danish Grand Prix and is backing the Swindon skipper to re-ignite his title challenge at the Millennium Stadium later this month.

Adams, pictured, failed to reach the final for the second consecutive meeting on Saturday, leaving him trailing defending champion Nicki Pedersen by 27 points after just five rounds. But with the British leg of the Grand Prix series just two weeks away, Rossiter believes Adams has the perfect opportunity to claw back some ground on his championship rivals.

He said: "It's Cardiff in a couple of weeks time and I know Leigh will be looking forward to that one.

"He will be disappointed with the performance in Denmark after getting himself into a good position, but there is still a long way to go.

"A couple of Grand Prix wins and you can make big strides, but I think the next couple will be vitally important.

"He needs to start making inroads on Pedersen's lead, starting in Cardiff."

Adams admits it will be tough to knock Pedersen off his perch after the Dane topped the points charts at the Parken Stadium on Saturday.

But the man from Mildura insists he is not going down without a fight.

He said: "There are still lots of rounds to go but Niki is opening up a bit of a gap. I need a couple of rounds where I get 20 points.

"Denmark was disappointing but it's a tough old world sometimes and I just have to get back on the pace.

"We're all looking forward to the British Grand Prix already. That's pretty much my home meeting after Poland and I think it's going to be great."
