LEIGH Adams launched a furious tirade against "incapable" referee Marek Wojaczek after the Robins skipper's controversial exclusion in heat 17 cost him a place in the semi-finals of Saturday's British Grand Prix.
In front of around 50,000 fans at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium the Aussie ace dropped further off the pace in his bid to become World Champion, scoring just seven points, and Adams was left fuming at two decisions by Wojaczek which ultimately cost him a spot among the final eight riders.
The night's main talking point came in heat 17. Nicki Pedersen clipped Adams' back wheel going into the second bend of the first lap, but Wojaczek remarkably chose to exclude the Australian, much to the amazement of every single spectator inside the Millennium Stadium.
And an irate Adams, pictured right, told the Advertiser: "I can't believe it - it's just amazing.
"It's kind of comical really to think that he's cocked up in front of 50,000 people and I hate to think how many TV viewers.
"And not to do it once but twice is unbelievable.
"Obviously the guy's just not capable of doing his job.
"There was no chance of me being excluded. I was that far in front and pulling my own line, and I just can't believe it. He's got the option of putting all four back in and didn't do it.
"But what can you do?
"I guess you've just got to laugh about it because it's that ridiculous.
"It's obviously frustrating because everyone's putting in a lot of work around me and myself, and to get decision like that is just ridiculous.
"I felt as though I was riding alright.
"I was chewing away at the points and a good win there would have really put us up in a good position for the semi.
"But that's the way it goes and what can you do?"
Swindon's captain had initially been angered when the referee ruled in favour of American Greg Hancock in heat five when the pair appeared to pass the chequered flag at the same time.
Even television replays seemed inconclusive and suggested a dead heat, but Wojaczek went against Adams.
"If you watch it on TV, I was in front.
"I can guarantee you I was in front," ranted Adams.
"I watched it and when that red line is there I've come across in front.
"It might be marginal or it may even be a dead heat, but the guy just obviously isn't capable of his job - simple as that.
"He shouldn't be out there, he should be doing Conference League."
