Screen to miss Blunsdon clash

BELLE VUE number five Joe Screen will not feature in tonight's Elite League clash with Swindon Robins at Blunsdon after failing to recover from a shoulder injury.

The Aces will operate the Rider Replacement facility as cover for Screen, with guest rider Kevin Doolan stepping in for the absent Lukasz Jankowski.

Meanwhile, Robins number eight Cory Gathercole has sustained a broken thumb whilst riding for the Isle Of Wight.

Gathercole crashed when his chain snapped in the opening heat of the Isle of Wight's victory over Scunthorpe on Tuesday night.

X-rays at Swindon's Great Western Hospital revealed a break below the thumb of his left hand.

A plaster cast has been temporarily fitted and Gathercole will return to hospital today to see a specialist.
